10DLC and sender registration
Registered identity and use cases for U.S. business texting.
What is 10DLC?
Short answer: 10DLC is the U.S. application-to-person channel using 10-digit long-code numbers. It registers the business identity (“brand”) and messaging use case (“campaign”).
Why do I need 10DLC?
Short answer: Carriers require U.S. business traffic over local 10-digit numbers to have a registered sender and use case. Registration makes the sender and purpose traceable.
Registration is not consent and does not guarantee delivery.
What is a 10DLC brand?
Short answer: The brand is the verified legal entity responsible for the program. Submitted identity data must match authoritative business records.
What is a 10DLC campaign registration?
Short answer: It is the registered use case associated with a brand, including message purpose, opt-in/out flow, samples, and program details.
Why was my 10DLC registration rejected?
Short answer: Common reasons include mismatched legal data, unverifiable web presence, unclear opt-in language, missing policies, inconsistent samples, or a use case mismatch.
Use the supplied rejection detail and correct source data rather than guessing.
How long does 10DLC registration take?
Short answer: Timing varies with verification, review, and corrections. Use the status in Blackleaf or ask Support for the current account-specific state.
Does 10DLC registration mean I have consent?
Short answer: No. Registration identifies the sender and use case. Every recipient still needs the required consent, and opt-outs must be honored.
