Development preview · Availability and deployment scope confirmed for your store.
Build around the way your store serves people.
A neighborhood shop and a store handling online pickup alongside the lunch rush need different operating views. Blackleaf’s preview brings the queue, customer context, and product information together so the team can see the next action without losing the customer conversation.
- Start with the channels your location actually operates.
- Separate order preparation from a customer physically waiting for service.
- Keep current product and offer details close to the sale.
Make reporting readiness part of the decision.
California’s Department of Cannabis Control identifies Metrc as its California Cannabis Track-and-Trace system partner. When evaluating a POS, ask how your location’s records, submissions, rejected updates, and corrections are handled. A finished checkout screen is not evidence that a regulatory submission was accepted.
- Review the supported workflow for your jurisdiction and license type.
- Demonstrate stock reconciliation, submission status, and exception handling before launch.
- Use current DCC and tax-agency guidance when defining the store’s reporting requirements.
Know where the rollout stands.
Blackleaf Point of Sale is in development, with initial rollout planned around California. Early access is a conversation about your location, current system, equipment, service channels, and timing. Production Metrc reporting, payments, hardware connections, and recovery procedures must be implemented and validated for the agreed scope.
| Area | Current scope |
|---|---|
| Interactive POS | A sample environment for exploring workflows. |
| California rollout | Initial market focus; availability and launch timing confirmed per store. |
| Metrc and payments | Live coverage and supported operations require validation. |
| Texting | An existing separate product; supported POS connections and data access vary. |
Bring your customer relationships with you.
A POS change should account for customer matching, rewards, available history, and contact permissions. If your immediate priority is reaching customers, Blackleaf texting can work alongside an existing POS where the connection and data access are supported. The POS rollout can be evaluated separately.
Questions worth asking.
Clear answers for planning your store’s next step.
What should a California store bring to an early-access conversation?
Bring the licensed location and license type, current POS, service channels, station count, equipment you want to retain, required connections, reporting needs, and desired timing. Initial Blackleaf POS rollout is planned around California, but production coverage and a launch date are confirmed for each store after a readiness review.
Does Blackleaf Dispensary POS integrate with Metrc?
Metrc reporting is part of the planned POS workflow. The current preview does not establish a live production Metrc integration. State-specific reporting, credentials, submissions, corrections, and reconciliation must be implemented and validated before activation. Confirm current coverage with Blackleaf Dispensary POS for your licensed location.
Which states will Blackleaf Dispensary POS support?
The initial rollout is planned around California. Additional state coverage has not been announced here. A store’s jurisdiction, license type, reporting requirements, payment setup, and launch readiness need individual confirmation.
Do I have to switch POS systems to use Blackleaf texting?
No. Blackleaf’s dispensary messaging platform is available separately and can work alongside an existing POS, subject to the integration and data access available for that system. Adopting Blackleaf Dispensary POS is a separate store-operations decision.
